Desert Arrow

Desert Arrow

Desert Arrow’s story begins before even Angel’s does. His mother was a respected physicist and engineer. She was recruited by Infinity Inc to help design and invent an endless energy source, the infinite battery. She and the other top scientists would meet with Infinity, who seemed like a generous and kind man, looking to increase the quality of all human life. What became clear was that the battery’s energy source, an unstable form of radiation, was containable, but would ultimately require an unreasonable level of radiation poisoning and exposure. Even with this knowledge of the danger this would bring to his team, Infinity pressed on for results, in time, most of the team members would succumb to the new radiation’s poisoning , but it’s effects didn’t end there. A large number of the children of those exposed would begin to exhibit a type of control over this new radiation, usually through bonding it with another element.

For Angel, that is sand and dust. He can create and control the flow of this energy, bonding it with dust particles to form everything from weapons, to walls and barriers, and even a sort of mech suite. Always fascinated by archers and their global history, Angel had been practicing the sport and form since he was a kid, pairing it with his powers was a natural growth. His studies didn’t end there, as he’s also worked hard on various hand to hand combat skills, along with swordplay and spearmanship.

Angel has also spent some time on both coasts. He was raised in the deserts of the southwest, but would attend school in the east, bringing his penchant for Cape work with him. While at college in Trinity City, DA would have several run ins with Doc Nitro, Shifty and Mercury, joining them for a number of missions. He already knew how to bring irradiated sand with him, but being so far from his usual source of power, he learned to also bond all manner of small grain particles.. He holds a special place in his heart for that team, and will always consider himself a Ragamuffin.

DA is no rookie to Cape work, and has been taking part in Cape activities since high school. He’s been on several teams, and has even worked with the APF (though he insists on only working with certain people, and has spoken out against them numerous times). Most recently, he was convinced by Felicity to join her west coast based team, the Pacifica Watch. With several responsibilities in his life, Angel doesn’t necessarily stay with the team or go on every mission, but he’s always ready if they need a hand.
