Trinity Hired Goons
The Hired Goons are a loosely affiliated group based out of the legendary Trinity Underground, a massive abandoned subway system under the city of Trinity. It had long become an area outside the laws control, with Menaces, Power Brokers, and small time crims setting up shop in it’s winding tunnels and dingy forgotten stations. As more and more Alt Humans began to appear over the decades, the Underground saw greater and greater populations, with those on the run turning to it as a first option, while others just wanted the privacy of it’s tunnels for their devious needs. As this population of undesirables grew, they became organized.
Not on their own at first, but as an outgrowth of the desires of those in higher frames of power. They knew the Underground was a wealth they could tap to draw henchmen and stooges from, but finding good help was more trouble than navigating the labyrinth on many occasions. And so began the Trinity Hired Goon Society, a group anyone could apply to join, documenting their strengths and capabilities in order to be put on a list for potential jobs. The list was a closely guarded secret, one that the APF would love to get their hands on, but they’ve never been able to. Many believe the list is a physical document, not just a digital file with names and vague addresses, but finding a specific pad of paper in the Underground is a greater challenge than flying to Jupiter in the eyes of many.
In the time since it’s inception, the Hired Goons have grown, their members include both Alt Humans and regular joes. Members like Brute, Tundra, Impact, Dynamo, Shade, Inertia, the Manimal, and Zero Point have wreaked havoc on peoples all down the east cost and into the midwest, not just in the Grand Lakes area near Trinity. High level Menaces looking to start trouble known they can go to the Underground and find talent, or enough middling individuals to make a small army.
Other members make more trouble in their own backyard. Groups like The Hammers street gang and The Masked Men are more regular fixtures in the crimes in and around Trinity, each having many run ins with the Ragamuffins as well as the APF. Groups like this tend to stay closer to small time heists, and don’t necessarily get involved with the ‘powers that be’ near the top of the food chain. That said, they’ll happily start some trouble, regardless of who is asking; so long as the money is right.
